Quick answers

Short answers, before the detail

Who will I actually be working with?

Alex. NC AI Services is one person — no junior staff, no account managers. You call, I answer.

Why does this business exist?

Because Eastern NC owner-operators kept getting pitched enterprise-minimum engagements by firms out of Raleigh, saying no thanks, and going back to running everything off a phone and a spreadsheet. Nobody was offering anything in between.

Who does the physical production work?

I design and build the digital side myself — automation, AI workflows, web presence, brand and creative direction. Vinyl, apparel, and print get subcontracted to trusted local shops, so you still have one point of contact.

Why I started this

I kept watching the same thing happen. A marine service shop in Carteret County would get pitched by a firm out of Raleigh — nice deck, big promises, $40k engagement minimum. The owner would say no thanks, because obviously. Then they'd go back to running everything off a phone and a spreadsheet, because no one had offered them anything in between.

That gap is what I built this for. Not a scaled agency. Not a one-size-fits-all platform. Just one person who shows up, understands how a 5-to-20-person operation actually runs, and builds the specific thing that helps — and sticks around to make sure it keeps working.

I design and build the digital side myself — automation, AI workflows, web presence, brand and creative direction — and then the AI systems I build keep working for you after I've moved on to the next thing. For physical production like vinyl, apparel, and print, I subcontract to trusted local shops, so you still get one point of contact and real craftsmanship, without agency overhead.

What I do

  • AI Consultancy — audits, roadmaps, staff training, and vendor selection for businesses ready to adopt AI without the hype.
  • Business Process Automation — I build it, then AI handles the manual work eating your team's time: inquiries, documents, scheduling, reviews, reporting, while I keep it tuned.
  • Web Presence & AI Visibility — websites built to rank in search and appear in AI-generated answers, not just look good in a browser.
  • Brand & Creative — identity systems, vehicle wraps, print, and ad creative that work at every scale from a truck to a phone screen.
  • Physical Production — review capture cards, printed materials, vinyl, apparel, and display units. I design it; production gets subcontracted to trusted local shops, so you get real craftsmanship without agency markup.

Where this comes from

Before this, I spent two decades in systems engineering and cyber defense — leading Cyber Defense Operations teams at 7-Eleven, building an in-house Security Operations Center that saved the company $1.8M a year, and running enterprise security programs for Fortune 500 clients at Secureworks. I hold an AAS in Information Technology from Carteret Community College, with training through CompTIA in Security+ and A+. That same security-first, no-wasted-motion approach goes into everything I build here — whether it's an AI workflow or your website.

How I work

First call is free. No deck, no proposal template. I just want to hear what's going on with your business before I suggest anything. If there's a fit, you get a straight answer on price and timeline, full ownership of what we build, and my number for whenever you need it after.

I'm based in Morehead City. Most of the work happens remotely, but I drive to client sites for training, installs, and anything that goes better face-to-face. Carteret, Craven, Onslow, Jones, and Lenoir counties are all within a normal day for me.

Tide & True Plants of the Crystal Coast

AI tools and automation that grow with the business

Terry Wade built Tide & True Plants of the Crystal Coast the way a lot of small Eastern NC businesses start: selling in person at local farmers markets, word of mouth, no website, no social profiles — nothing for a customer to find him with once the market packed up for the day. He came to NC AI Services to smooth out day-to-day business processes and get some kind of presence online.

The work so far: setting up his social profiles and Google Business Profile so customers can find and follow him between market days, AI tools for his day-to-day operations, consulting on the prompts he uses in his own workflows, and an automated email-reply flow so inquiries don't sit unanswered while he's at a market stand instead of a desk. A voice agent for customer calls is deploying next quarter.

"Alex is great. He offers great services. He has helped me with a few AI tools to help smooth out my business processes and has helped my business marketing with setting up social profiles and Google business profiles. He continues to be there when I need help and responds in a timely manner."

What a real AI adoption roadmap could look like

The problem this solves: A 12-person manufacturing shop keeps hearing "use AI" from every direction but has no idea which tools actually fit a shop floor, and no appetite to gamble payroll-sized money finding out.

What we'd build: An audit of current workflows, a prioritized roadmap that separates real time-savers from hype, and hands-on training so the team can actually run what gets adopted — not just watch it sit unused.

What faster inquiry response could look like

The problem this solves: A small service company missing leads during peak hours because the owner is the only one handling new customer inquiries — and is often on-site. Response times stretch to hours, and competitors book the same jobs faster.

What we'd build: An AI-assisted inquiry triage system that captures contact form and text submissions, classifies urgency (emergency vs. routine), sends an immediate acknowledgment with estimated response window, and flags high-priority leads to the owner's phone instantly.

What showing up in AI-generated answers could look like

The problem this solves: A marine parts and service dealer ranks fine on a plain Google search but never gets mentioned when a boater asks ChatGPT or Google's AI Overview "who does outboard repair near Morehead City" — a growing share of how people search now.

What we'd build: A rebuilt site with clean schema markup, a corrected and fully-populated Google Business Profile, consistent name/address/phone data across directories, and GEO/AEO-structured content written to be the answer an AI model quotes, not just a link it skips.

What a brand that actually looks like one business could look like

The problem this solves: A tourism operator running charters has a logo a cousin made in 2014, a different look on the boat wrap, and yet another look on Facebook — so returning customers don't always recognize it's the same business.

What we'd build: A cohesive identity system — logo, colors, type — applied consistently across the boat wrap, dock signage, and social profiles, plus ad creative sized correctly for every platform it runs on.

What a physical display that drives digital action could look like

The problem this solves: A farm market has a great in-person crowd on weekends but no way to turn a walk-by browser into an online repeat customer — the products and hours live only in the owner's head and a chalkboard.

What we'd build: Weatherproof QR signage at the stand linking to a mobile-friendly landing page with current inventory, hours, and an order-ahead form — designed once, printed locally, installed on-site.

What one weekly number that actually means something could look like

The problem this solves: A trades company has data scattered across a scheduling app, a review site, and a spreadsheet — the owner can feel business is up or down, but can't say why, or what to change.

What we'd build: A baseline set of KPIs tracked from day one of the engagement, plus whatever metric matters most to the owner specifically, rolled into one plain-language weekly summary instead of five dashboards nobody opens.

What clients say

Google reviews, unfiltered.

Within a few days they had a prototype site for me to look at. Not only did they make it a seamless process. They handed all the technical details. And even hosted my site. My Traffic on my website has went up leaps and bounds and I have customers calling all the time saying that they found me on my website and how great the website looks.

He's like a dog with a bone, he'll get it right now matter what it takes. It's great to know there's someone with his skills to call, rather than talking to someone you don't know in a foreign country where trust is marginal. Thanks for the help.
