What a season on the Atlantic Beach strip does to your signage
Everything along the strip faces one of two enemies: direct sun on the south-facing side, or the salt that comes off the water and never really leaves. A sign that reads beautifully in a proof goes chalky before its second summer if the substrate was chosen on price. Reds give out first, then anything screen-printed on thin stock, then the vinyl edges start to lift. For a dive or rental operation it is harsher still, because your identity spends its working life on a trailer that gets backed into salt water and hosed off twice a day. We spec for that in the design phase — cast vinyl rather than calendered on anything curved, laminates rated for real UV exposure, a palette that ages evenly instead of one that looks sharp new and embarrassing in year two. Material decisions get made with the design, not by the printer afterward.
