The Harkers Island workday we sit down and map
The audit starts by following one of your days. A boat builder's day is shop hours, plus everything that steals from shop hours: a customer three states away wanting a progress photograph, a supplier who has not confirmed hardware, three voicemails about work you do not take. A ferry or charter operator's day looks nothing like that — weather calls, group sizes, deposits, and the same six questions about what to bring out to the lighthouse. A seafood or supply business runs on landings and buyers. We do not arrive with a list of tools we already want to install. We watch where your time actually goes for a week, then point at the two or three places where a machine could do the retyping and you could get back to the bench.
