Salt, sun, and a sign on the White Oak River
A sign on this waterfront takes three things at once: salt coming off the river, full sun with more of it bouncing back up off the water, and a wind that finds every unsealed edge. Stock that would be fine on an inland facade chalks out in two summers facing this. So the real decisions happen in the file, not at the print shop. High-contrast marks that stay readable after the color has faded a stop. Line weights heavy enough to hold from the far side of the street. Cast vinyl and marine-rated laminate instead of the cheaper calendared material on anything pointed at the water. For a hull graphic or a trailer that lives at a ramp, we draw it assuming it will be pressure-washed and eventually scraped. It has to still look like you afterward.
