Schema Markup Implementation

Starting at $350 one-time

Google and AI tools don't just read your website — they need to understand it. Schema markup is the structured data layer that tells machines exactly who you are, where you are, what you do, and what customers say about you. Most Eastern NC business sites don't have it. Yours should.

Built by one person, not a team. Kept running by AI that doesn't clock out.

Quick answers

Short answers, before the detail

What is schema markup?

Schema markup is structured data added to your website's HTML that tells search engines and AI tools exactly what your content means. It uses the schema.org vocabulary to label your business name, address, services, prices, reviews, and FAQs in a machine-readable format. AI tools use it as a high-confidence data source when generating local recommendations.

Does schema markup help SEO?

Yes — directly and indirectly. Schema enables rich results that increase click-through rates, and sends strong relevance signals to Google's local algorithm. For AI citation purposes, LocalBusiness and Service schema are among the highest-confidence sources AI tools use when verifying and recommending businesses.

What we implement

01

Existing schema audit

We start by checking what's already there — and what's wrong. Many sites have outdated schema, malformed JSON-LD, or schema types that don't match what Google expects for their business category.

02

LocalBusiness schema

Your business name, address, phone, hours, geo coordinates, price range, and service area — in the exact format Google's local algorithm and AI tools use to verify and cite Eastern NC businesses. Includes the correct LocalBusiness subtype for your industry.

03

Service schema

Individual Service entries for each of your major offerings — with descriptions, provider, and area served. This is what allows AI tools to recommend your specific services when a customer asks about a category, not just your general business.

04

FAQ schema

Structured FAQ markup on your highest-traffic pages — the foundation for featured snippets, AEO, and GEO citation. FAQ schema is one of the highest-signal schema types for AI tool citation.

05

BreadcrumbList schema

Navigation hierarchy markup on all interior pages. Enables breadcrumb-style search results snippets and helps both users and crawlers understand your site architecture.

06

Validation & verification report

Every schema block validated against Google's Rich Results Test and Schema.org validator before delivery. You receive a report of exactly what was added, where, and what rich result eligibility was unlocked.

Pricing

Schema markup implementation Starting at $350 LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, and BreadcrumbList schema across all pages, validated against Rich Results Test. Scope scales with site size and number of service categories.

Who this is for

Eastern NC businesses with an existing website that doesn't have schema markup — which is most of them. If your site was built before 2022, has no structured data, or was built on a DIY platform, schema implementation is one of the highest-return one-time investments you can make.

Schema is particularly impactful for businesses that want to show up in Google's AI Overviews or be cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity. These tools use schema as a high-confidence data source — it's the difference between being a business they can verify and a business they skip over.

If you're starting a GEO or AEO engagement with us, schema implementation is included. If you just want the structured data foundation without the ongoing services, this is the standalone version.

Which schema types do you implement?

At minimum: LocalBusiness with full address, phone, hours, and geo coordinates; Service schema for each major offering; FAQ schema on service pages; and BreadcrumbList on all interior pages. AggregateRating schema if you have verified reviews. Everything validated before delivery.

Can you add schema to an existing website?

Yes. Schema is added as JSON-LD script blocks — they don't require a redesign or rebuild. We can add schema to WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, and custom sites without affecting your design or layout.

How often does schema need to be updated?

When your business information changes — new address, phone, services, or pricing. We deliver schema accurate as of the project date and provide the canonical data so you can update it going forward. Clients on GEO or AEO monthly plans have schema maintenance included.

Plain English

The terms on this page, explained

No jargon test. If any of this is unfamiliar, here is what it actually means — written for the person paying for the work, not the person selling it.

BreadcrumbList schema

Markup describing where a page sits in your site’s hierarchy. Google uses it to replace the raw URL in search results with a readable trail, which measurably improves click-through on deep pages.

Google Rich Results Test

A free tool that checks whether your structured data is valid and which enhanced listings a page qualifies for. Run it after any schema change, because invalid markup fails silently.

JSON-LD

The format Google recommends for schema markup — a self-contained block of data placed in the page’s code, separate from the visible content. Because it is not tangled into your layout, a redesign cannot silently destroy it.

Knowledge Graph

Google’s database of real-world entities and the relationships between them. It is what lets Google answer “who owns this” or “what time do they close” directly instead of handing over a list of links, and it feeds both Knowledge Panels and AI-generated answers.

LocalBusiness schema

The schema type describing a physical business: name, address, phone, hours, service area, and price range. For a local service business it is the single highest-value piece of markup on the site, and it belongs on every page rather than just the contact page.

Microdata

An older way of adding schema by sprinkling attributes through your visible HTML. Still valid, but it entangles content and markup, which is why JSON-LD has largely replaced it.

Rich results

Search listings enhanced with extra detail pulled from your structured data — star ratings, prices, breadcrumbs, event dates. Which types qualify changes over time, and Google dropped FAQ rich results entirely in May 2026.

sameAs property

A schema field listing your official profiles elsewhere — Facebook, LinkedIn, your Google listing, an industry association page. It is how you tell search engines that all those accounts are the same business as this website.

Schema markup

Standardized labels added to a page that spell out what its content actually means — that this text is a price, that one is an address, this block is your opening hours. Search engines and AI models read it directly instead of inferring it from your prose.

Service schema

Markup describing a specific service you offer, who provides it, and where. It lets you state a fact plainly instead of hoping a crawler infers it from marketing copy.

Structured data

The general term for information formatted so machines can read it reliably, of which schema markup is the web’s standard flavor. It is the difference between a page a computer can display and one it can understand.
