Terms of Service

Agreement

By engaging NC AI Services, a brand of Carteret Tech ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to these terms. Each project engagement is governed by a written Statement of Work (SOW) that specifies scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing. These terms apply in addition to any SOW.

Services

NC AI Services provides AI consultancy, business process automation, web presence and AI visibility, brand and creative design, and print-to-online materials services. All services are scoped and priced in a written SOW prior to commencement of work.

Payment

Project work is billed as a 40% deposit before work begins and the remaining 60% when the job is done. Ongoing monthly services are billed monthly in advance and carry a 3-month minimum term, after which they continue month-to-month. Each SOW states the amounts. Late payments may result in work pausing until the account is current.

Self-serve purchases

Some fixed-price products can be bought directly on this site by card, with no consultation and no Statement of Work. These are currently the Website Performance Audit, the NAP Consistency Audit & Cleanup, Vendor & Tool Selection, and the AI Opportunity Report. This section governs those purchases, and it overrides the Agreement, Payment, and Termination sections above wherever they conflict. There is no deposit, no scoping phase, and no SOW.

What you are buying. Each product page states exactly what is delivered before you pay, and the price shown is the full price. The product description on the Stripe checkout page repeats it. Nothing beyond what is listed there is included — in particular, the AI Opportunity Report is a written report delivered without a call. Meetings, workshops, and implementation work are separate engagements.

Delivery. We state a turnaround for each product at checkout and deliver to the email address used for payment. The AI Opportunity Report is delivered within 3 business days of purchase — sooner if you complete the short intake questions we send you. All other self-serve products deliver within the turnaround shown on their page. If we cannot meet the stated window we will tell you before it expires and offer you the choice of waiting or taking a full refund.

What we need from you. Checkout asks for your website. Some products also send a short intake form. If you provide nothing beyond checkout, we still deliver a report built from what we can research independently — but it will be less specific to your business, and that is not grounds for a refund on its own.

Refunds. Self-serve purchases are final sales. You are entitled to a full refund only if we do not deliver what the product page describes, or do not deliver within the stated turnaround. To claim it, email alex@ncaisvc.com and we will refund the original card. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

Credit toward larger engagements. Where a product page states that the fee is credited toward a follow-on engagement, that credit is honoured in full for 12 months from purchase and applied to the first invoice of that engagement. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded separately. A refund under the paragraph above cancels the credit.

How these reports are produced. Our reports combine automated analysis — website inspection, AI-search visibility checks, and calculations run on figures you supply — with our own review. Findings are diagnostic recommendations based on the information available at the time of writing. They are not guarantees of outcome, and estimated savings are estimates. You are responsible for reviewing any recommendation before acting on it, and for verifying that any tool we suggest fits your legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations.

Intellectual property

Upon receipt of final payment, you own all deliverables created specifically for your project (logos, copy, code, designs). If an engagement is cancelled before final payment, the Termination section below governs what you keep. We retain the right to display work in our portfolio unless you request confidentiality in writing. Third-party tools, platforms, or assets licensed for your use remain subject to their own terms.

Confidentiality

We treat your business information, processes, and data as confidential. We will not disclose your business details to third parties without your consent, except as required to deliver the service (e.g., working with a print vendor on a design file).

Revisions and scope

Each project SOW specifies the number of included revision rounds. Requests beyond the agreed scope will be quoted separately before additional work begins. We will always tell you before doing out-of-scope work.

Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific project or service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, indirect damages, or consequential damages. AI tools and systems we implement may produce outputs that require human review — client is responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated content before use.

Termination

Either party may end an engagement with 30 days' written notice. Monthly services cannot be cancelled before their 3-month minimum term ends; after that they run month-to-month. Cancelling requires a buyout: if we are building or have built your website, you pay whatever remains unpaid on the website's original quote. Once the buyout is paid, you keep the website and any accounts registered in your name. Automations, integrations, and other systems we built and operate for you are not transferred. You are also responsible for payment of work completed and services billed through the end of the notice period. Deposits are non-refundable once project work has begun. This section applies to SOW-based engagements only — self-serve purchases are covered by the refund terms above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes will be resolved in Carteret County, NC courts.
