Before you start

Have your device and the AI app open, and something real to work on — an actual email that needs a reply, or an actual announcement that needs drafting.

Walk-through

1. Drafting an email or announcement. Give it the same context habit from Course 2 — who it’s to, the tone, and the two or three facts that must be in it. Example: “draft a short announcement for the church group text about next Sunday’s potluck being moved to 12:30, keep it warm and brief.”
2. Summarizing a long email or message thread. Paste in a long thread and ask “summarize what this thread is actually asking me to decide.” The single highest-value admin trick — turning ten replies into three sentences.
3. Making a simple checklist or schedule. Describe a task out loud (“I need to get the sanctuary ready for the Christmas service — sound check, chairs, programs, greeters”) and ask it to turn that into an ordered checklist.
4. Always the final step: read it in your own voice. Whatever AI drafts, build the habit of reading it out loud once and changing anything that doesn’t sound like you before sending it. This keeps your voice consistent even when AI does the first pass.
